About Connect 3 Million

Connect 3 Million is an initiative, launched in 2019, by a consortium of local businesses in support of investigating a fixed link between Guernsey, Jersey and France.

The proposal of an undersea tunnel holds potential benefits that could contribute to the economic, social and environmental future of the Channel Islands.

‘Connect 3 Million’ refers to the potential core populace accessed between the Channel Islands and the intended connection to Coutances in Normandy. Opening up the possibilities of a considerable commuter population, as well as leading to increased trade, tourism, shared infrastructure and business collaboration, promoting economic growth for both islands.

It is important to acknowledge that such a project needs to be approached with careful consideration of technical, environmental and economic factors. The Connect 3 Million project aims to establish a thorough feasibility study, along with input from stakeholders and communities, which would be essential in assessing the viability and desirability of such a tunnel.
